My name is Joanne Groulx and I created this site to fulfill my personal mission: to empower people to take full responsibility of their own health and enjoyment of life by exploring, talking, discussing, and critically rethinking everything we’ve assumed to be true about our health, wellness and aging.

My life goal is to help people get healthy by promoting the POSITIVE BALANCE PHILOSOPHY- vital pillars to optimal living.

The absence of illness doesn’t mean you are optimally healthy. You are living an optimal life, when you are physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually healthy, and are flourishing in your emotions and relationships. People have a need for growth and fulfillment and if I can enhance certain areas of your life and increase your personal happiness you are on your way to optimal living.

As the years passed, I realized that my calling was as a wellness/health coach, motivator, and communicator—to get people to take responsibility for their health, fitness and happiness (often in the face of flawed information that can lead even the best-intentioned astray), and to inspire people to be open-minded, passionate, and enthusiastic about leading a healthy, happy, fit, balanced, active lifestyle, with the least amount of pain, suffering and sacrifice possible.

The diet and exercise industry today is focused on the idea that you need to struggle and suffer to drop excess body fat, achieve your fitness goals, and be “healthy.” Luckily, we have science to expose and revamp what being healthy really entails.

We are facing an incredible amount of cultural forces toward disease (un-ease) and accelerated aging in today's high-tech modern life. When we seek assistance or guidance, it’s easy to get manipulated—by the powerful forces of BigPharma, BigAgra, and the enormous amount of propaganda and hype that dominates the conventional health industry. I believe essentially in taking personal responsibility for everything that has ever happened or will ever happen to you—and this applies to health. I am convinced that this is the best, most proactive, effective way to live a happy and fulfilling life. Now, more than ever, you simply cannot hand over your health to others.

I am nothing short of outraged by the mass-marketing of deadly drugs, surgery, and quick fix solutions that do nothing more than ruin people’s lives. I am disappointed with doctors who quickly dispense prescription drugs instead of encouraging positive lifestyle changes; or give outdated dietary advice while lacking education and knowledge in the advances in the food and nutrition research.

My blog articles primarily introduces empowering themes such as living in gratitude, the harmful cultural programming that distorts our perspective on healthy body image; the harried, multitasking wonder-woman/superman ideals we are expected to live up to; research behind true happiness; mind tricks that can help change your habits; dealing with anxiety and depression; personal growth and much more.

You may have also noticed a recurring "dog" theme throughout the website. I had the great fortune of being rescued by a dog who has helped me become a better, happier, and more-balanced human being.

I have designed and merged conscious living with my passion for dogs in many of my online courses. We can learn so much by observing the way our dogs rejoice in life’s simplest moments. Dogs live in the moment. They don’t regret the past or worry about the future. If we can learn to appreciate and focus on what’s happening in the here and now, we’ll experience a richness of living that our faithful companions enjoy everyday.

The wellbeing for dogs and their humans was born from my desire to expand the human-canine relationship into a blissful state of balance; promote the optimum physical and mental health through teaching holistic wellness all inspired by living life in tune with nature.

The education, classes, services and products help you and your dog to be healthy and happy. Many of my courses include spiritual practices and energy work with dogs. With a spotlight on the human-canine bond, you can find peace, freedom and happiness each and every day. In learning to better care for the dogs who share our lives, humans can and will learn to better care for themselves.

I encourage you to be true to your own voice and intuitive sense, reject the harmful cultural forces that compromise your health, beauty, and happiness, and simply take time daily to enjoy your own company, chase your passions, and to continually focus on your dreams.
